III Amazon Vox Training Cycle
Journalists, communicators, educators and cultural producers can register for the III Amazônia Vox training cycle. English Improvement Course for COP
Opportunity for those who are preparing for COP 29 and COP 30 and want to improve their English, we have a great opportunity in partnership with the Regional English Language Office (RELO) of the United States Embassy in Brazil and COJOVEM. Rock in Rio launches “Amazon forever” public notice
Amazônia para Sempre is another initiative for a better world by Rock in Rio and The Town, which, in partnership with Vale and with the support of the Global Compact Brazil Network, aims to build a legacy for people living in the region through projects in which they themselves are subjects and agents of change, thereby contributing to the protection of the climate and biodiversity. With a value of R$2,000,000, the project will reward projects led by local people and groups.

IFC Amazônia brings together research, market and fishing producers
Free registration is now open for the 2nd edition of IFC Amazônia, which will be held between November 12 and 14 at Hangar – Centro de Convenções e Feiras da Amazônia, in Belém. The program also covers sustainable production and low-carbon animal protein. The debates will include researchers, companies and workers from the sector, with lectures, workshops, a technology and business fair, as well as a "show kitchen", with gastronomy based on fish.

Program for indigenous journalists
Dialogue Earth is offering a fellowship for Indigenous journalists, running from November 2024 to December 2025. The fellowship aims to highlight and expand on topics of interest to Indigenous peoples in Latin America, Africa, South Asia, and Southeast Asia, from the perspectives of Indigenous authors themselves. Selected candidates will be invited to the COP30 climate conference, scheduled for late 2025 in Brazil, where they will participate in a special event organized by Dialogue Earth.

Call for Applications for Forest Bioeconomy
Focused on projects in the Amazon, this call for proposals is aimed at partnerships in bioeconomy, addressing topics such as forest management and recovery of native vegetation. Impact Investment and Sustainable Business Festival in the Amazon
Manaus, the capital of the state of Amazonas, will host the third edition of the Festival of Impact Investments and Sustainable Business in the Amazon. Entrepreneurs, investors, civil society organizations and other stakeholders that make up the impact ecosystem in the region will come together to discuss paths, opportunities and challenges for the development of the Amazon impact ecosystem, the bioeconomy and the future of the largest tropical forest on the planet.

Oxford opens applications for Climate Journalism Network classes
Applications are now open for the 2025 cohort of the Oxford Climate Journalism Network, a program at the Reuters Institute in Oxford. The project will select 200 reporters and editors from all disciplines to join two cohorts of 2025, with 100 starting in January and another 100 in July. This is a free, virtual program for journalists from around the world, but all in English.

Young Scientist Award
It is an initiative of the National Council for Scientific and Technological Development (CNPq), in partnership with the Roberto Marinho Foundation, with media support from Editora Globo and Canal Futura, and sponsorship from Shell. For over 40 years, the Young Scientist Award has revealed talent, boosted research in the country, and invested in students and young researchers who seek to innovate in solving the challenges of Brazilian society. Gabo Foundation journalism scholarships
The Gabo Foundation, the Avina Foundation and Habitat for Humanity invite you to participate in the ColaborAcción Edition Habitat Grants, which will provide a total of 8 journalism production grants, which include financial support and access to mentoring from members of the Gabo Foundation network of experts. International Conference on Amazon and New Economies
To advance and strengthen solutions that reconcile economic development, the reduction of inequalities and the conservation of forests and socio-biodiversity, the Brazilian Mining Institute (IBRAM), academia and different sectors of the economy will be gathered in Belém (PA) for the International Conference on the Amazon and New Economies. ICFJ Solutions Challenge
The International Center for Journalists (ICFJ) is now accepting applications for the 2024 Disarming Disinformation Solutions Challenge. Submit ideas, concepts, or projects that answer the following question: How can news publishers leverage new technologies and innovative approaches to more effectively reach their target audiences, particularly those most vulnerable to misinformation, with quality news and information? The call is open to media professionals, technology professionals, engineers, artists, lawyers, educators, anthropologists, and other professionals working in this field. Selected ideas will receive funding of up to $20,000 and expert guidance to turn their prototype into reality.

Transnational Research Projects on Biodiversity and Transformative Change
The Biodiversa+ consortium, led by the European Union and in partnership with CNPq, is now accepting applications for the Joint Call for Transnational Research Projects on Biodiversity and Transformative Change (BiodivTransform). The first phase, for pre-proposals, will be open until November 8, with results expected in February 2025; and the second phase, for full proposals, will close on April 11, with final results in September and projects starting on December 1.

Support for fire brigade projects
The Casa Fund has launched the call for projects “Support for Grassroots Groups in Confronting Climate Emergencies Caused by Forest Fires”. The objective is to support Voluntary and Community Brigades, associations and grassroots communities that intend to act in the prevention and combat of forest fires in a structured and planned manner, enabling the restructuring of existing Brigades and the formation of new Brigades, training, as well as all actions that make up Integrated Fire Management. Projects of up to R$20,000.00 will be supported, to be developed in up to 4 months (from October to January 2025).
