Free music exchange for OneBeat Music
The initiative will bring 25 musicians from Brazil and 53 other countries, aged between 19 and 35, to the United States for a month-long immersion – where they will have the opportunity to write, produce and perform original music, as well as develop projects that incorporate the power of musical collaboration and civic engagement to address shared community challenges. The selected musicians will also participate in a tour of the United States, where they will be able to perform, collaborate with local musicians and lead workshops with youth and community organizations.

Dauphine Foundation Environmental Journalism Fellowships
The Dauphine Foundation, in collaboration with Journalists-Writers for Nature and Ecology and the Madeleine Foundation, is offering two grants of 2,500 euros each for freelance journalists to report on environmental issues. Applications must be submitted in English.

Call for young journalists
The Latin American Network of Young Journalists is now accepting applications for its new generation of members. The initiative is aimed at young journalists and content creators up to 30 years old from Latin America and the Caribbean, providing a 10-month training process, as well as networking and connections with journalists from across the continent.

Support Program for Research and Strategic Actions in Bioeconomy
The Government of Amazonas, through the Amazonas State Research Support Foundation (Fapeam), is accepting applications for the Support Program for Research and Strategic Actions in Bioeconomy (Bio CT&I/Fapeam), Notice No. 014/2024. Researchers linked to higher education and/or research institutions, research institutes, and non-profit public research and development companies located in the state of Amazonas may participate in the notice.

Training Program in Quantitative Ecology
The Serrapilheira Institute is accepting applications for the 5th edition of the Quantitative Ecology Training Program, which will select up to 30 undergraduate or master's students for theoretical and empirical training in the use of quantitative tools in the field of ecology. This is one of the institute's plans to contribute to the training of future scientists capable of answering major questions in ecology – a fundamental research area for addressing current challenges, such as the climate crisis and biodiversity loss.

Third Edition of RE-FARM CRIA Heart of the Forest
RE-FARM CRIA Coração da Floresta is FARM RIO's third call for social investment aimed at youth from peripheral, border, lowland, settlement, indigenous, quilombola and traditional communities in the Legal Amazon. This edition aims to support 20 (twenty) youth groups living and working in the Legal Amazon through the provision of financial resources for the development of projects. A total of R$500,000 will be invested and distributed among 20 (twenty) projects, and each recipient will receive R$25,000.

Scholarships for international study program on Oceans and Maritime Law
The United Nations (UN) and the Nippon Foundation are offering advanced training for government officials and other professionals directly involved in marine resource management and ocean protection. The selected individuals will participate in a study program at the United Nations Headquarters in New York from March to June 2025.

Real Estate Journalism Award
Journalists from the press, radio, TV and internet in Brazil can compete for the 21st Abecip Journalism Award. Offered by the Brazilian Association of Real Estate Credit and Savings Entities (Abecip), the award aims to recognize work on the real estate market.
Papers may be submitted in the following categories: Real Estate Credit and Public Policies; Costs, Housing Prices and Funding for Real Estate Credit; Legal Security, Digitalization and Efficiency in Real Estate Credit Contracting; and ESG
Up to eight winners will receive R$8,000 each. The most outstanding story overall will receive R$10,000.

Notice to participate in the 5th edition of Protax
The National Council for Scientific and Technological Development (CNPq), in partnership with the National Council of State Foundations for Research Support (Confap), is launching the 5th edition of the Support Program for Research Projects for the Training and Education of Human Resources in Biological Taxonomy (Protax). This edition has a total investment of R$14 million. Each project may receive up to R$400 thousand, a resource to be allocated to CNPq scholarships in various modalities, such as scientific initiation, master's, doctorate, technical support at secondary and higher education levels, as well as junior and senior postdoctoral studies.

Brazilian Congress of Environmental Journalism in Fortaleza
The Brazilian Congress of Environmental Journalism (CBJA) will be held in Fortaleza (CE), bringing together journalists who cover socio-environmental issues from all over the country. The event is organized by the Brazilian Network of Environmental Journalism (RBJA), the Eco Nordeste Institute and the Envolverde Institute, with support from the Journalism Course at the University of Fortaleza (Unifor). Data Journalism Award
Applications are now open for the 6th edition of the Cláudio Weber Abramo Data Journalism Award, the largest Brazilian award promoted to honor excellence in the use of data by journalists to report, analyze and investigate issues that affect Brazilian society. This edition receives works that were published between October 9, 2023 and September 2, 2024 and that fit into one of the following categories: Investigation, Data Visualization, Innovation and Experimentation, and Open Data.

Research Grants for Ecology Projects and Other Topics
The Mamirauá Institute is accepting applications for the selection process for 20 PCI (Institutional Training Program) scholarships aimed at researchers, specialists and technicians who wish to contribute to scientific and technological projects in the Amazon.
Each scholarship will last up to 5 years, with values ranging from R$2,860 to R$5,200. The open positions are for work on research projects involving ecology and conservation of felines, conservation medicine and one health, ecology of terrestrial vertebrates, Amazonian aquatic mammals, forest ecology, territorialities and socio-environmental governance, innovation and development of sustainable technologies and archaeology.

Cultural Exchange Announcement
Applications are now open for the Cultural Exchange Call for Applications – Audiovisual Circulation and Participation Abroad. The initiative by the Ministry of Culture aims to encourage the circulation and participation of audiovisual professionals in events in the sector abroad, including festivals, exhibitions, market events and seminars. Each person selected will receive the value of the cultural grant, taking into account the location of the event.
Applications originating from states in the Legal Amazon – Amazonas, Acre, Rondônia and Roraima, Pará, Maranhão, Amapá, Tocantins and Mato Grosso – will receive an additional amount of R$1,500.

Public Call for Open Innovation for the Amazon
The InovAmaz 2023 Program call seeks partners from the private sector (companies, startups), cooperatives and other organized producers to co-develop technological solutions for the region. Partners from all over Brazil can participate.

The National Council of State Research Support Foundations (CONFAP) announces the launch of Call for Proposals No. 01/2024 for the CONFAP Science, Technology & Innovation Award – Professor Ennio Candotti, aimed at researchers and communication professionals with work in scientific journalism. Harvard Public Policy Program Scholarship
The Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University is accepting applications for the Joan Shorenstein Center Fellowship. To apply, you must be a journalist, academic, or public policy officer working in the press, politics, or public policy. You must be fluent in English. Fellows will complete a semester of residency in the program and receive a stipend. Travel and living expenses are not covered by the center.
